    Installation

    Escalator Deflection Chain Installation Instructions

    1. Pre-installation Preparation
    2. Cut off the escalator main power supply and hang a safety warning sign to prevent accidental startup.
    3. Prepare matched deflection chain, special tools, gloves and safety protective gear.
    4. Clean the handrail return track, guide wheels and connecting shaft to remove dust, rust and debris.
    5. Check the new deflection chain for deformation, crack or wear damage; confirm the model matches the escalator.
    6. Dismantle Old Deflection Chain
    7. Loosen the handrail tension device to release tension of the original chain.
    8. Disconnect the chain connecting pin with a pin punch, split the old chain into sections.
    9. Take out the old chain segment by segment from the return track, avoid scratching the handrail and guide rail.
    10. Inspect all supporting rollers inside the return channel, replace stuck or damaged rollers in advance.
    11. Install New Deflection Chain
    12. Thread the new deflection chain into the handrail return guide groove smoothly, keep the chain flat without twisting.
    13. Align the two ends of the chain, insert the connecting pin and lock the circlip tightly to avoid falling off during operation.
    14. Adjust the tensioning device moderately, make sure the chain runs loosely without sagging or excessive tightness.
    15. Confirm the chain is fully engaged with all guide rollers, no offset or friction against metal parts.
    16. Test & Acceptance
    17. Manually turn the escalator driving wheel slowly to test chain circulation. Check for jamming, abnormal noise or deviation.
    18. If no abnormal conditions, restore the escalator outer cover, remove the safety warning sign.
    19. Switch on power and run the escalator under no load for 10 minutes, recheck chain operation stability.
    20. Record installation information including chain model, installation date and inspection result.
    21. Safety Notes
    22. All installation work must be operated by professional escalator maintenance technicians.
    23. Strictly cut off power before any disassembly and assembly to avoid clamping injury.
    24. Do not use deformed, cracked or mismatched deflection chains.
    25. Stop operation immediately if abnormal noise, jamming or chain deviation occurs during test run.
